MAD SCIENTIST (Head of Product Development)

At 12 Erik started working on weekends installing Garage doors with his father in the small industrial town of Quesnel. This gave him the opportunity to go inside every industrial facility in the city. At the time, the town was the largest manufacturer of wood products in western Canada. That introduction to the industrial environment set him on a path to learn as much as humanly possible about machines and manufacturing. In his grade 12 year, Erik won the national competition for cabinetmaking at the secondary level. 2 years later, he won nationals again at a postsecondary level, and was able to represent Canada at the World Skills Competition in Switzerland. His placing at that competition is still the highest a Canadian has achieved to this day. Rather than accept a scholarship to UBC for Engineering, Erik went on to start a career in Tool and Die making, because it offered him greater exposure and education to all aspects of manufacturing. Over 13 years as a Tool Maker/Designer, Erik has designed and built high-precision tooling, high-speed robotics, automation equipment, and cutting edge SCUBA equipment. In 2014 Erik joined Aaron and Amanda at an equipment manufacturing company to head the Engineering department. Erik played a key role in developing the companies products and manufacturing systems, pushing the company to maintain is staggering growth rate and commanding lead over the competition’s technology. When Aaron started Eteros in 2016, Erik was eager to come on board and take ownership of the new engineering department, spearheading the task of developing new and improved technology for a rapidly expanding specialty crop harvesting sector.
