BIO

Amanda was born and raised in Surrey, British Columbia. Growing up as the oldest of 4 children, she has been honing her leadership skills since birth. Academics were always a natural strength for her, and she easily graduated high school at the top of her class. Being drawn to STEM courses (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math), Amanda attended The University of British Columbia to earn a bachelor degree in Computer Science. Immediately after graduating from UBC, Amanda began work as a developer at Crystal Decisions – a software company in the Business Intelligence sector. After only a year and a half on the job, she was put in charge of managing a team of 4 engineers developing the security features of the platform. Over the next two years, Crystal Decisions was acquired by Business Objects, and then shortly after, acquired by SAP. Working in the BI sector exposed Amanda to all the challenges large companies face while trying to extract useful data from the many different facets of their business – experience that would prove very useful later on.

While attending university and though her software career, Amanda spent evenings and weekends helping Aaron with the book keeping aspects of his marine repair & boat building businesses. Over the next 10 years, Amanda took on the task of learning everything needed to keep the financials in great shape. As the business grew, Amanda felt drawn to learn more about the accounting and financial worlds, and eventually took on this job full-time. When Aaron co-founded an equipment manufacturing company in 2007, Amanda naturally took on the Financial Controller position. From the business’ conception, to late 2016, she was responsible for everything related to the company’s finances. Putting her software engineering and experience in the Business Intelligence sector to use, Amanda also took on the task of customizing the company’s Salesforce-based CRM, ERP, and Accounting systems. By determining each department’s pain points, these customizations increased efficiency across the board, and gave the leadership team the information they needed to grow the company at an impressive rate. In 2016, Amanda joined Aaron in founding Eteros, taking on the finance department, and developing the IT systems for the company.
